About

Welcome! I'm Louise Chamberlin, M.S., CCC-SLP, a speech-language pathologist that works with patients of all ages and diagnoses. While I work across all areas of speech therapy (articulation, language, swallowing, voice, fluency, etc), my passions are dysphagia, pragmatics/social skills, and - more recently - iPad apps! I began my career in a private clinic and have just begun the transition into the hospital setting, where I'm excited to continue my growth as a therapist.

I started this blog as a way to share this new learning experience, and as a place to generally educate patients and their caregivers/parents. Education is of utmost importance, so that skills learned in therapy can transfer to the home and community, and so that patients may advocate for themselves. I've found in my work that no matter how much time I take to teach, I always have more to tell... but never enough time, and especially when I have back-to-back sessions the rest of the day. But I hope to use this site to relay all of this information, to empower patients, and to encourage people to have a little fun with therapy!
